I realized just how big the room is when I pretty much put everything for the nursery in it. Jesse just needs to set up the crib and I have some laundry to put away, but it's still going to be quite empty. I'm trying to convince Jesse to let me get this recliner for the room... no dice yet. I'll keep working on it. I'd like to get an area rug too, but I think that will be pushing it. ;) I've included pictures of the valence I made below, and the prints we hung up from www.falldowntree.com. I'd say we're about 95% done, hooray!

Jesse has worked so hard this last month to finish the flooring, installing the baseboards and casings in the nursery. All that's needed now are some paint touch ups, installing the window coverings, install her little chandelier and put the closet back together. Then I can start decorating her room! :)

Jesse and I installed hardwood flooring all day on New Years Day. We both totally paid for it with all the aches and pains we have now. But it was worth it. We only have about 3 more rows to do until the floors are 100% done. Oh and as you can see the walls are now painted as well. We painted the side walls a soft pink and an accent wall in cream. This was Jesse's idea and I think it works great!
All the nasty carpet has been removed from the the room and is currently being prepped for painting. Hopefully Jesse will have time this weekend to get the first coat of paint applied.

Jesse is finally able to start working on the nursery since both the bathroom addition is completed and the other bedroom is done (so we can move everything into it). I can tell, even though he hasn't said anything himself, that he's excited to work on it. It's going to be fun putting together a room for our little girl. Here's how the nursery looks before we begin to work on it:
As you can see, if I were having a boy we wouldn't need to repaint the entire room. C'est la vie!
